BICSc CERTIFICATES

The British Institute of Cleaning Science (BICSc) was established in 1961. Its mission is to promote the cleaning industry and its status through education.

The Institute does not train of itself but certificates training qualifications of which the Cleaning Operator Proficiency Certificate is the most well known and has produced thousands of qualified employees in a wide range of skills from simple dusting, mopping to more complicated correct machine operation technique.

The Institute licences a substantial number of training centres of which M & O Training has been a licensed Centre since 2004.

These BICSc courses are renowned programmes within the Cleaning Industry, but do not attract Government funding. However, M & O Training is able to deliver these awards under licence, in the workplace or at its own Centre, for a very competitive price.

The Cleaning Operator Proficiency Certificate (COPC)

This is a Certificate that is gained by showing competence in ten cleaning tasks selected from a list of thirty of the most common practical cleaning tasks. There are three stages, the first Stage awarded on successful completion of ten tasks and the third stage, awarded by completing all thirty tasks. (Tell me more....)

Cleaning Supervisory Skills Certificate (CSSC)

This is an assessment of the supervisor as they carry out their normal duties. It provides for the qualification of cleaning supervisors and highlights the professional approach of the employing organisation. It covers 5 broad categories:

Business Processes
Technical Competences
Communication
Time Management
Team Building

The programme is designed to encourage supervisors to look at wider skills beyond cleaning whilst assuring sound operational efficiencies and processes. (Tell me more....)
